As part of the Department of Homeland Security, we focus on ensuring the safety of commercial and general aviation, mass transit systems, freight and passenger rail, highways, pipelines, and ports through highly trained security professionals. Job Summary We are seeking energetic and detail-oriented Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for screening passengers and baggage at transportation hubs to prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas. Your proactive approach and commitment to safety will help maintain smooth operations while providing excellent customer service to travelers. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security while developing your skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Conduct transportation security screening of passengers, baggage, cargo, and vehicles using X-ray machines and other detection equipment Enforce airport security protocols and policies to ensure compliance with federal regulations Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of baggage and equipment safely and efficiently Interpret security policies and procedures accurately to identify potential threats or prohibited items Utilize de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills to handle difficult or anxious travelers professionally Perform background checks on individuals when necessary to verify identity and security clearance Maintain detailed records of screening activities, incidents, and compliance checks in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) Qualifications 18 years or older at the time of application.
