Lead Cashier/Manager On Duty

Lead Cashier / Manager on Duty High Falls Food Co-op - High Falls, NY High Falls Food Co-op is looking for a Lead Cashier / Manager on Duty to help oversee front end operations and provide excellent customer service in our community-owned grocery store. This role supports the Front End team, assists with daily store operations, and helps ensure a smooth and welcoming shopping experience for our customers and members. ⚠ Availability Requirement This position requires open availability . Regular shifts will include evenings and weekends , and this role is designed for someone who can help cover shifts when needed due to call-outs, scheduling gaps, or busy store periods. Applicants should be comfortable with flexible scheduling and stepping into leadership responsibilities during their shifts. Responsibilities Provide friendly, helpful customer service Operate the POS system and process transactions accurately Support and guide Front End staff during shifts Respond to customer concerns and resolve issues professionally Maintain store cleanliness and organization Communicate important information to management and staff Assist with membership questions and sign-ups Help maintain safe store operations and follow security procedures Qualifications Customer service or retail experience required Leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment Comfortable handling cash and working with POS systems Flexible and reliable with scheduling Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the store as needed If you enjoy working with people and helping lead a team in a fast-paced retail environment, we encourage you to apply.
