Job Description

Learning Steps Preschool and Child Care Center is looking for a Toddler Room Teacher to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children are able to grow; cognitively, physically, emotionally, and socially.
Qualifications:
An Associate Degree in Early Childhood or related area from a college or university and one year full day experience in group care of unrelated under six years of age Bilingual, a must (preferably Spanish, but not necessary)
Skills:
Teaching basic skills such as color, shape, numbers, and letter recognition Planning and carrying out curriculum Helping children develop positive self-images and experience success Encouraging the exploration of interests and developmental social skills Developing schedules and routines ensuring physical activity, rest, and playtime Providing leadership and guidance to other staff and colleagues Creating and leading a supportive, nurturing learning environment that encourages responsibility and motivation To enjoy and assist in outdoor activities during all kinds of weather. To accept all children as individuals and to show respect and consideration to their differences. To be aware of what is happening in the total room while being focused on an individual or small group. To maintain record keeping of the classroom. To record observations of children daily/weekly. To carry out appropriate and positive discipline as established by the LSP Administrator. To develop and maintain positive communication with parents, greeting and informing parents of what is happening in the classroom on a daily basis.
