Michigan Aquarium and the imagination of Peppa Pig World of Play Michigan. As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you'll tackle hands-on challenges, solve real-world problems, and play a key role in keeping the magic alive every single day. ?????

Qualifications & Experience Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the safety of all team members and guests. Lead a small team of Facilities Technicians, supporting their development through training, guidance, and hands-on leadership. Monitor compliance with operating procedures, guest service standards, and safety guidelines. Oversee opening, operating, and closing procedures for the attraction. Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment and machinery, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Utilize hands-on expertise to solve problems quickly, minimizing downtime and maximizing the guest experience. Perform custodial duties, re-lamping and lighting repairs, painting and wall repair, and equipment setup or take-down. Support shipping, receiving, and installation of exhibits and technical equipment as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain smooth operations.

Education and Experience:

?? High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade certification preferred. ?? Over one year of experience directly managing or leading a small maintenance team. ??? Relevant hands-on experience with repairs and upkeep in buildingssuch as apartment complexes, schools, gyms, or attractions. ??? Strong knowledge of maintenance areas including painting, woodwork, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and general handyman repairs. ?? Experience creating schedules, setting weekly maintenance goals, and coordinating multiple sites or teams. ?? Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible, with the ability to work independently and guide a team under high-pressure conditions. ? OSHA certification preferred but not essential. ??
