Job Description

Who are we hiring? The League Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 9th & Van Brunt Soccer League, ensuring a high-quality, inclusive, and safe experience for all participants. This role is responsible for scheduling, communication, and coordination among players, coaches, referees, and community partners. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about using soccer as a tool for community building. This is a part-time contract position. Contract runs June 1 - August 31. Key Responsibilities Coordinate league logistics including game schedules, practice times, and field reservations at the 9th & Van Brunt Soccer Complex in constant communication with KC Current supervisor and KCMO Parks and Recreation department. Serve as the primary point of contact for coaches, referees, families, and partner organizations. Assist with player registration, roster management, and team assignments. Support recruitment and onboarding of community-based referees and coaches in collaboration with Kansas State Youth Soccer Association. Ensure compliance with U.S. Soccer SafeSport standards, including background checks and safety protocols. Manage onsite operations on game days, including equipment setup, communication with trainers, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Collect feedback from players, families, and partners to inform league improvements. Provide a summary report at the conclusion of the season documenting participation, successes, and recommendations. Qualifications Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience working with youth sports, community programs, or event coordination preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse partners and families from immigrant and refugee backgrounds. Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during the season. Bilingual is preferred Time Commitment This is a part-time, seasonal position 12 hours per week during the league season (including evenings and weekends as needed).
