Job Description

An Astoria-based General Contracting firm is currently seeking a full-time Legal Affairs Associate. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, an interest in corporate/business law, and exceptional communication skills. We are looking for a person with a strong work ethic and great computer skills that is interested in joining our legal team by ensuring that our business and corporate law matters are effectively monitored, resolved, and recorded. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support Legal Affairs Manager in coordination, resolution, and management of all legal matters Make administrative appearances before the NYC Office of Administrative Trials & Hearings Manage administrative violation resolution process including preparing certificates of correction, quarterly management reports and submitting proof of resolution to the issuing agency Communicate with outside attorneys to ensure coverage for administrative hearings Prepare and provide templates for project management, access agreements, risk management, etc. Review all contract memos and serve as a resource to the Operations, Buyouts, Compliance, and Risk Management teams Review Contract Memos and prepare accounting invoices and compliance tracking notifications Review and respond to interdepartmental requests for prime contracts, bonds, and subcontracts Track and contribute to due diligence submission to various city, state and federal agencies for the company, partners, and affiliate entities. Manage and audit corporate files for company, development entities, and company affiliates Draft and submit entity formation filings to governing City, State & Federal agencies including biennial statements, corporate dissolutions, and other filings as needed Coordinate and maintain corporate case (non-personal injury) files on internal database entry including communicating across teams to construct a complete case file Coordinate with internal teams and outside counsel to ensure timely and accurate provision of all documentation related to corporate matters (non-personal injury) Review and Track legal fees for matters handled by outside firms Receive, review, and distribute legal correspondence to legal team
Qualifications :
Juris Doctor, preferred Bachelor's Degree in a Legal/Business/Economics/Entrepreneurship or related discipline is required.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) Proficiency in Adobe Professional Proficiency in operating in various internal and external internet-based database platforms Strong organizational skills and excellent written/ oral communication skills Availability to work extended hours as required by urgent circumstance
