Full-Time | Legal Support A highly respected California law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant to support its Labor & Employment Group , with a strong focus on workplace investigations . This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast?paced legal environment and excels at high-level administrative and case support. ???? About the Role The Legal Practice Assistant provides day?to?day administrative and practice support to attorneys within the Labor & Employment Investigations team. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail?oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple deadlines while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. ? Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative, case management, and practice support for the Investigations team
- Maintain and update investigation case lists, deadlines, budgets, and calendars
- Schedule and coordinate investigative interviews (Zoom + in?person)
- Prepare, format, proofread, and assemble investigative reports, contracts, memos, and legal correspondence
- Manage attorney calendars, travel, and business development activities
- Assist with conference logistics and presentation support
- Organize documents, prepare binders, and maintain electronic/physical files
- Enter attorney time and coordinate with billing teams for monthly billing review
- Prepare check requests, expense reports, and coordinate vendor payments
- Provide backup support to other LPAs and administrative staff as needed
- Maintain composure under high?energy deadlines and shifting priorities
- Collaborate with multiple firm departments to support overall workflow
- Apply corrections, follow instructions, and maintain consistency in all documents
- Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, staff, and external stakeholders ???? Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a Legal Practice Assistant, Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, or Executive Assistant in a law firm
- Prior experience in Labor & Employment or workplace investigations strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree or relevant legal/paralegal certification preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with CCC Macros, iManage, time & billing systems, Adobe Pro a plus
- Outstanding grammar, spelling, proofreading, and written communication
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and high ethical standards
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working extended hours when needed
