Full Job Description Area Supervisor Summary:
Supervises shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment for all identified tasks. Assist with the planning and assignment work in their respective areas. Implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions on-going. Area Supervisor Essential Duties and/orResponsibilities:
Is a member of the Safety Committee, receives related safety training, and helps to create a safe working environment for all Fimco employees. Works with production staff related to daily build priorities to achieve superior on-time delivery results Understands assembly process and able to assist with training new-hire personnel. Develops detailed product identification abilities to assist with assembly operation Learns and supports Lean manufacturing methodologies to assist with process improvements related to quality, efficiency, and cost. Works with individual line leaders to achieve daily productivity requirements by assisting and resolving quality and productivity issues Is fluent in MS excel, Microsoft outlook, word, and the use of Fimco systems to process work through the area of assignment. Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results. Works to continuously improve in all areas. Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provides regular progress reports to the manager. Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Assist with making employment decisions for identified staff. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution skills Performs accident investigations. Participates in employee investigations and issuing corrective actions Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned. A rea Supervisor Experience and/orEducation:
Bachelor's Degree preferred: or equivalent experience and/or education 3 years of manufacturing experience required 5 years of leadership experience required Area Supervisor Essential Skills and/orAbilities:
