Job Description

Hassig Companies is hiring experienced licensed Michigan Journeyman Plumbers for commercial plumbing, mechanical, and construction work. This is not a residential service sales position. This is not drain cleaning. This is commercial plumbing work for experienced plumbers who can read drawings, run clean work, coordinate with other trades, solve field problems, and take ownership without being micromanaged. We are not hiring additional apprentices for this opening. We are looking for licensed plumbers who already know the trade and want steady, full-time, year-round work with strong pay, quality tools, and direct access to ownership. Pay $40 to $60 per hour to start , based on license, commercial experience, leadership ability, reliability, and overall fit. $55 to $60 per hour: Senior Foreman, Project Lead, Master Plumber, or top-level commercial candidate $48 to $55 per hour: Licensed Journeyman Plumber with lead, layout, or foreman ability $40 to $48 per hour: Licensed Journeyman Plumber with solid commercial experience We are willing to pay at the top of the range for the right person. Work Location Field-based commercial plumbing position Most work is performed throughout Macomb and Oakland Counties, with occasional work in surrounding Metro Detroit areas Company truck or van may be provided for qualified field roles Reliable, trusted employees may be able to take the company vehicle home and report directly to job sites Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to local commercial job sites What You Get Guaranteed 40 hours per week for qualified full-time employees No send-home for lack of work when you are a good fit and doing your job Full-time, year-round commercial work Company truck or van for qualified field roles Reliable, trusted employees may be able to take the company vehicle home and report directly to the job site. Fuel card for job-related fuel Company-provided tools, including ProPress, lasers, and specialty tools Company iPad with cellular service Health insurance options through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Dental insurance option Company-paid health and dental contribution may be available as part of an agreed compensation package Paid holidays Paid sick time under Michigan law Flexible schedule when the work allows Night work paid at overtime rate when scheduled On-call stipend when you agree to be on call Emergency call bonus when you respond after hours Performance bonuses and year-end bonus opportunities 1 to 3 raise reviews per year based on performance, reliability, and growth Company credit card for approved job purchases Branded work gear, including Carhartt, Richardson, and New Era Direct access to ownership Laid-back, respectful work environment No corporate nonsense What You'll Do Install commercial plumbing systems from rough-in to finish Work on water, gas, sanitary, storm, drain, vent, and mechanical piping systems Read blueprints, shop drawings, specs, and layout plans Layout work, plan material, and keep jobs moving Coordinate with foremen, project managers, general contractors, inspectors, customers, and other trades Diagnose and solve field issues efficiently and to code Keep job sites clean, organized, safe, and professional Mentor apprentices and helpers when needed Use a company iPad for photos, notes, documentation, and communication What We're Looking For Valid Michigan Journeyman Plumber License required Valid driver's license required Commercial plumbing experience strongly preferred 5+ years of hands-on field experience preferred Ability to read blueprints and work from plans Ability to work independently without being micromanaged Ability to plan ahead, communicate clearly, and keep work moving Clean workmanship and pride in the trade Strong personal accountability Ability to work professionally with customers, inspectors, general contractors, and other trades Higher Pay Consideration For Master Plumber License Backflow Certification Foreman or project lead experience Strong commercial plumbing background Ability to run larger commercial jobs or small crews Strong blueprint, layout, and coordination ability Experience with mechanical rooms, underground, rough-in, finish, gas piping, water distribution, sanitary, storm, and vent systems Proven reliability, communication, and leadership Why This Job Is Different A lot of shops say they pay well, then cut hours, send people home, make them chase parts, or leave them stuck dealing with bad planning.
