Obtains current patient information including but not limited to: vital signs, height, weight, specimens, allergies, reason for visit, chief complaint, medical history updates, and medication changes, and records same on patient chart. Properly identify and prepare the patient and explain procedures. Maintains patient privacy during testing. Obtains blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions. Perform routine EKG procedures in accordance with the American Heart Association standards and department policies. Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc. Performs treatment & wound care. Maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients/ family/ significant others while providing care in a high stress environment with multiple priorities.
Administers:
oral, topical, and injectable medications according to patient safety standards. Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested. Assists with delegated patient education activities including but not limited to distributing education literature Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. License/Certification Requirements Current registration with the New Jersey State Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Salary Min ($) USD $25.25 Salary Max ($) USD $35.25
