Job Title:
LPN LTC Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our long-term care skilled nursing facility team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient-centered care, demonstrating expertise in managing diverse healthcare needs within a supportive environment. As an LPN in this role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality nursing services, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents. Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes.

LPN LTC:
Genie Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced LPN LTC to fill an opening place located in Flandreau, SD for $46.66/hr. (Tax+ non-taxed)
Requirements of LPN LTC:
  • Must have AHA BLS certification
  • Must have a valid SD LPN License or Compact license.

Responsibilities of LPN LTC:
Shift:
12- hours Nights Shift details: 6.00 PM to 6.30 AM 3
  • 12 hours/week.
(36 hrs.) 13-week contract Administer medications and treatments accurately following physician orders while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and monitoring of symptoms related to chronic or acute conditions. Assist with complex procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, tube feeding, and wound care using aseptic techniques. Document patient care activities thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and case managers to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support. Respond promptly to urgent situations by triaging patients effectively and providing emergency interventions when necessary. Support discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care, medication management, and family education for post-acute or outpatient services. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, nursing homes, or assisted living environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for medical documentation. Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards and familiarity with medical terminology relevant to geriatrics and chronic disease management. Experience managing complex cases involving acute pain management, infection control, and medication administration. Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments accurately while demonstrating physiology knowledge. Strong communication skills to effectively work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges across diverse populations. Additional skills in IV insertion, phlebotomy, sterile processing, or hospice care are advantageous but not mandatory.
