Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) supporting students and staff in a vibrant school community near Deatsville, AL. Your care and expertise will make a meaningful impact, providing essential health services and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current and valid LPN or LVN license with eligibility to practice in Alabama Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or community health setting preferred Familiarity with medication administration, basic first aid, and chronic condition management (such as diabetes, asthma, or allergies) Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff Ability to maintain meticulous records and uphold student confidentiality CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date) Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable to the unique needs of a school setting
Key Responsibilities:
Administer prescribed medications and provide basic healthcare to students as needed during school hours Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies or health concerns Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to promote students' overall wellbeing Maintain accurate health records, prepare required reports, and assist with immunization compliance Educate students and staff in basic health practices and hygiene Participate in health screenings and wellness initiatives within the school This contract role offers a chance to make a positive difference within a supportive educational environment.
