In this vital role, you will develop and implement engaging recreational activities, coordinate special events, and foster a vibrant, inclusive environment that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. Your leadership will ensure residents experience meaningful days filled with joy, connection, and purpose. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead diverse recreational activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific programs Coordinate special events such as celebrations, outings, and themed activities to foster community engagement Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to integrate therapeutic activities that support residents' cognitive and physical health Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as mobility, grooming, and social participation to promote independence Manage activity schedules efficiently to ensure a balanced mix of entertainment, therapy sessions, and social opportunities Provide counseling and support related to aging issues, dementia care strategies, and community resources for residents and their families Maintain detailed records of resident participation in activities and communicate progress or concerns to the care team Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a focus on senior or memory care populations Strong background in event planning, recreational therapy, or related fields such as social work or long-term care management Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, and team members Experience assisting residents with ADLs and managing activity schedules in a caregiving setting Ability to handle aging issues counseling with sensitivity and professionalism Prior experience in home & community care settings is preferred but not required Join us in creating vibrant days filled with purpose!
