LIfeguard and Water Safety Instructors

The Town of Cornwall seeks Waterfront Certified Lifeguards for its 2026 season at Hammond Beach. We are looking for responsible candidates willing to commit to a minimum of three (3) days a week. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

• Supervising swimming activities at the facility and ensuring that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
• Warning swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforcing regulations and water safety policies.
• Administering first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administering CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
• Inspecting facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable.
• Assisting in cleaning the waterfront and facilities.
• Certified Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Training Certificate, or equivalent
• American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent
