Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish presentation and ingredient selection Handle food with care, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines Use knife skills effectively to chop, slice, and prepare ingredients efficiently Manage meal preparation tasks during service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils throughout shifts Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring proper food handling procedures Serve dishes to guests or assist serving staff during busy periods to enhance customer satisfaction Experience Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is highly preferred Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods Experience with catering services or large-scale food production is advantageous Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
