• Part-time About us Sage Bird is a small, locally owned business in Harrisonburg, VA that seeks to create a community space full of events with quality food, drinks, and service.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of the kitchen manager. Prepare sandwiches, flatbreads, salads, & charcuterie boards in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing dishes and utensils
• Stock and rotate food supplies as needed
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting with food orders and addressing customer inquiries

Experience:

• Previous experience in a restaurant, food service, or kitchen environment is required
• Knowledge of basic food handling and safety procedures
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Kitchen Hours:

• Tuesday 5-9
• Wednesday 4-9:30
• Thursday 4-10:30
• Friday 4-11:30
• Saturday 11am-10:30pm, sometimes til midnight
• Sunday 11am-7pm
