Line Cook - Saturday & Sunday AM 6:30am - 2:30pm (Adult Residential Facility / Behavioral Health)

About JC Wallace House We provide transitional housing for clients suffering from mental health, addiction, and/or dual diagnosis. The ideal candidate wants to help break the cycle of clients moving from crisis centers to housing instability and back to crisis centers. JC Wallace House is looking for an experienced Line Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about offering delicious and nutritious food, hospitality and service to our clients in our adult residential behavioral health community. This role is ideal for candidates with prior experience in healthcare, residential, institutional, cafeteria, or hospitality kitchens who are comfortable preparing structured meals for groups in a regulated environment. This position is not fast-food or short-order cooking. Our Line Cooks prepare scheduled meals for residents, following established menus, food safety standards, and dietary guidelines. This position is an important part of our team. Under the general direction of the Culinary Director, follows established procedures and policies in reference to the cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of the facility kitchen.

Availability Required :

Saturday - Sunday AM (6:30am - 2:30pm) On-call as needed Availability for all shifts preferred Hours are not guaranteed, this is an on-call position Essential Functions of the Job The cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with the approved menu, current standards, guidelines, and regulations with established procedures, and as may be directed by the Executive Director and/or Culinary Services Director to assure that quality food service is always provided Perform other duties as assigned. Experience & Education High School Diploma, or G.E.D. Minimum of one-year related experience; two years preferred a restaurant or catering back of house role. Experience in a residential facility but not required; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
