Description Overhead Distribution Groundperson A skilled position with prior performance that understands the install and repair process for overhead distribution and transmission systems, which includes poles, cables, and electrical systems.

Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line work following company established Safety and Health standards and from the ground. Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice. Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job. Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment. Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification. Will have contact with public and private property owners to professionally communicate work to be performed. Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies. Operates various tools for the work (manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jack hammer and hand-line etc.). All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors. Reports all potential equipment and crew safety hazards toForeperson Minimum Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older. May be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment. Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Education & Experience Ability to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and other certifications obtained during career. Pre-Screen Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.License & Certifications:
Driver License Required, willingness to obtain a valid CDL within 90 days of employment preferred.Travel Requirements:
Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.Physical Requirements:
RARE (less than 10%): Sitting, Crawling, and Climbing PolesOCCASIONAL
(up to 33%): Stooping, Kneeling, Squatting, Body Twisting, Sense of Touch, Range of Motion, Pushing, Climbing Ladders, Climbing Stairs, Balancing, and Lifting up to 50 lbs.FREQUENT
