Entergy Louisiana, LLC This position may be filled as a Lineworker (Mechanic) II, III, or Sr based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The ability to perform all aspects of the Lineworker job function including but not limited to the day-to-day aspects of maintaining and building overhead and underground electrical facilities. Responsible various levels of learning, performing, and/or leading other lineworkers, material maintenance as well as, up to and including, aerial and underground work including utility distribution construction tasks. Working with a Live Safe mindset in all tasks; ensuring to mitigate hazards where identified.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Lineworker II Ability to perform overhead tasks, including energized primary cover up to 34,500 volts. Ability to understand transformer theories including bank installations, tap settings, and identifying and constructing multiple secondary voltage applications. Ability to learn and perform simple primary voltage switching (up to 34,500 volts) tasks and applications. Ability to lift, rig and tie knots to set up, construct, frame poles, and change out cross-arms, identifying materials and understanding distribution construction specifications. Lineworker III Ability to perform all tasks included in Helper through Lineworker II Ability to build and maintain underground residential distribution circuits, including but not limited to, prepare/operate pad mount switchgear, install and troubleshoot URD circuits and switching/tagging URD primary cable. Ability to learn three phase primary tasks to include safe operation and removal/installation of single and three phase reclosers, changing out insulators, and installing and replacing Gang Operated Airbrake Switches (GOABs). Lineworker Senior Ability to perform all tasks include in Helper through Lineworker III. Demonstrate strong Leadership capabilities including indirect crew leadership. Ability to learn and perform advanced primary voltage switching (up to 34,500 volts) tasks and applications. Ability to perform advanced Lineworker tasks on Regulators, capacitors banks, Alternate Switching Scheme, and Intelliruptor devices. All levels must be able to perform the following: Maintaining a well-organized jobsite to ensure the surroundings are safe. Learning, completing, and performing (Lineworker I-Sr) (as necessary) all mandated training, such as but not limited to, First Aid, CPR, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum experience required of the position: 6 months - 4 years of experience in a distribution field is required (placement in the appropriate level will be determined by the experience level for the selected candidate).
Preferred :
2 years of direct Distribution linework experience. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position: Ability to use physical strength to perform required tasks in all weather conditions. Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required. Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks with limited supervision. Ability to plan and lay out all work in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to assume a lead role and direct the work of other linemen. Ability to climb and work off of poles of various heights. Additionally, must be able to walk on all types of terrain. Any certificates, licenses, etc.

Must have valid driver's license. Must have, and maintain, a Class-A CDL or ability to obtain one (within 6 months of employment)..
