Job Description
The 7-12 Literacy Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction that supports student growth in reading, writing, vocabulary development, and comprehension across grades 7-12. This position works with students of varying ability levels to strengthen foundational literacy skills, improve academic performance, and prepare students for college, career, and life readiness. The teacher will develop engaging lessons aligned to Arkansas academic standards, use data to guide instruction, and implement interventions for students needing additional support. The successful candidate will create a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes student achievement, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, maintaining accurate records, communicating effectively with parents and staff, collaborating with classroom teachers and administrators, and participating in school improvement efforts. The teacher must be able to differentiate instruction, integrate technology when appropriate, and build strong relationships with students. Applicants must hold or be eligible to obtain appropriate Arkansas teaching licensure. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in secondary literacy instruction, intervention programs, or reading support services.
