Low Voltage Technician — TCP/IP Specialist Ready for your next move? If you've mastered low voltage systems and want to step into a role where networking and emerging tech are part of the daily work, we want to hear from you. About the Role We're hiring a Low Voltage Technician who blends traditional cabling expertise with solid TCP/IP networking skills. This isn't a "pull cable and move on" position — you'll work across structured cabling, IP-based security and access control, AV systems, IoT devices, and networked building technologies. Expect variety, growth, and exposure to platforms many techs only read about. What You'll Do Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling Configure and deploy IP-based devices including cameras, access control panels, VoIP phones, and AV equipment Set up and troubleshoot network connectivity: VLANs, subnets, PoE switches, basic routing, and IP addressing schemes Work alongside network engineers and integrators on commercial and enterprise projects Document installations, label infrastructure, and produce clean as-built drawings Diagnose connectivity and signal issues across the OSI stack — from physical layer to application What You Bring 2+ years of low voltage installation experience (structured cabling, security, AV, or similar) Working knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals: subnetting, DHCP, DNS, basic switch configuration Comfort reading blueprints, schematics, and network diagrams BICSI certification, Network+, or CCNA a plus (or willingness to pursue) Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check Physical ability to handle ladders, lifts, and confined spaces Why Make the Move New technology exposure — work with the latest in IP video, smart building systems, PoE++, fiber, wireless, and integrated platforms Real career progression — clear paths into network administration, systems integration, or project leadership Training investment — we pay for certifications and continuing education Variety — no two job sites are the same; commercial, healthcare, education, and enterprise environments Strong team — collaborate with engineers and senior techs who'll sharpen your skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience, plus health/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, company vehicle or mileage reimbursement, and tools/equipment provided.
