Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a valued role supporting student success as a school-based Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a part-time contract basis. Located conveniently near Michigan City, IN, this position serves students across Portage and Valparaiso, IN, providing essential OT services to help children thrive in an educational setting. This opportunity spans from May 5, 2026, to June 5, 2026, totaling 14 hours per week spread over two designated days, with working hours from 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Your expertise will directly benefit students at the SELF school in Valparaiso and additional district locations as needed.
Key Qualifications:
Active OT or COTA license, eligible for practice in Indiana (Must include with application) Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills to interface with educators, families, and school teams Ability to adapt interventions to a diverse student caseload
Core Responsibilities:
Evaluate students to determine OT needs in the school environment Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals Document progress and provide timely updates to educational staff and parents Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate therapeutic recommendations Provide both direct and consultative OT services to students Maintain accurate records and comply with federal, state, and district guidelines This part-time contract offers a supportive school community where your interventions will significantly impact students' educational participation and functional skills.
