$944 / 32 hours Minimum requirements Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license BLS certification Primary responsibilities Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, and vital signs monitoring. Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans. Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and per protocol. Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications. Continuously monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations).
Maintain accurate patient records:
condition changes, treatments, medications, and interventions. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and self-care. Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids; ensure proper IV line insertion and function.
Manage urinary catheters:
insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications. Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) for coordinated care. Provide patient comfort and safety measures: positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management. Respond to medical emergencies per protocol and provide basic life support as needed. Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use. Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations. Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments. Advocate for patient rights and needs within the healthcare team. Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned. Maintain professional competence through continuing education and training. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
