Job Description

Summary:
The licensed practice nurse (LPN) is responsible for rendering nursing care in terms of individualized patient needs according to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the nurse manager.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards.
  • Maintain and coordinate communication among patient/significant other, staff and physician as evidenced within medical record, client and health care team feedback with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the patient's care as evidenced by other department feedback.
Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs in preparation of visit with Doctor. Accurately input data into electronic health record and maintain updated records. Assess symptoms, obtain past medical history and current medication list. Assisting Doctors with medical procedures when necessary. Administer IM, sub-cutaneous and intra-dermal injections. Participating in cleanliness and organization of medicine and exam rooms. Maintaining and ordering medical supplies. Scribing for the provider-typing, medical terminology and spelling skills are required. Answer and refer telephone calls or other inquires to ensure accurate and timely communications are facilitated. Being a team player with all staff and assisting where needed. Required Education and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Valid registration as an LPN in the state of Arkansas.
  • Completion of relevant state Board of Nursing approved.
Preferably 1 year experience in medical field. Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a professional medical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items between 5 and 20 pounds.
