Job Description:
The Engineering Technology department is recruiting four S-STEM peer mentors selected from students within the departments of Biology and Chemistry, Computers Science, Engineering Technology and Mathematics to work with our S-STEM Scholars. We are contracting with these students to participate in up to 4 S-STEM Seminars (held on every other Tuesday afternoon 3:30-4:45 during the fall and spring semester), with 2 to be completed in the fall semester and 2 in the spring semester. Students will also be compensated for preparation time prior to these seminars as needed.

Peer mentors will be selected based on their Sophomore, Junior or Senior status in one of the designated departments, the appropriateness of their program of study within that department given the interests of the S-STEM Scholars, and their participation in Internships and Research Activities. For the first seminar peer mentors will be asked to prepare brief remarks about current or past Internship and/or Research activities in which they have been involved. In future seminars during the fall and spring semesters, they may be expected to share individually or in small groups with the S-STEM scholars about the curricular and co-curricular activities they have engaged in that have helped prepare them to seek out and participate in Internships and Research Activities.
