Machine Operator (6pm - 6am shift)

Title:

Machine Operator Summary/Objective This position reports to the Production Supervisor and will set up and operate equipment that is used in the manufacturing of food products. Operates and monitors processing equipment and raw material handling systems and/or and finished product for conformance to specifications. Responsible for maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in the production area. Operates food extrusion equipment at required parameters including starting and stopping equipment under normal and emergency situations Monitors, adjusts and records product measurements to meet specifications Alert Supervisor and maintenance personnel of any problems that may arise Make machine adjustments as necessary to produce products that meet company/customer specifications Monitors the production equipment for proper operating parameters, and possible failures Make sure all materials are loaded into the machine in a quick, efficient manner so that downtime is limited Count and record rejected products and scrap material Maintains Quality Control paperwork as specified Complete production reports Keep the machine and work area clean during the shift Performs all other miscellaneous duties as directed by Management Competencies Ability to read, write and interpret documents Basic math skills required Must have basic computer skills / knowledge Ability to communicate read and write in English in order to understand and follow work, GMP and safety instructions Must be able to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items that are 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
