Job Description
Job Summary The Machine Operator / Forklift Operator is responsible for operating foam manufacturing equipment, using hand and power tools, and safely handling materials with forklifts. This role supports production process by cutting, grinding, measuring, moving, and inspecting foam products while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Machine & Tool Operation Set up, operate, and monitor foam production machinery according to work instructions. Use grinders to trim, smooth, or modify foam products to specification. Measure foam products using measuring tapes and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy. Cut, shape, and finish foam materials based on job requirements. Make basic machine adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency. Inspect in-process and finished products for defects or dimensional accuracy. Record production counts, measurements, and quality checks as required. Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on machines and tools. Forklift & Material Handling Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move raw materials and finished goods safely. Load and unload foam materials, pallets, and finished products. Supply production areas with required materials in a timely manner. Transport finished products to designated staging or warehouse areas. Conduct daily forklift safety inspections and report any issues. Required Qualifications 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or material handling preferred. Experience using grinders, measuring tape, or similar shop tools preferred. Ability to read work orders, measurements, and production instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hand tools throughout the shift. Ability to operate machinery and forklifts for extended periods. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy. Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude. Strong safety awareness when using machines, grinders, and forklifts. Ability to multitask and prioritize work. Dependable attendance and teamwork skills. Work Environment Manufacturing facility with production machinery and forklifts. Noise levels may vary. Exposure to dust, foam particles, and moving equipment. #ZIPCEN
