Job Description

The Aircraft Mechanic II performs maintenance, repairs, and alterations on a variety of aircraft and aviation components in accordance with OEM publications, FAA regulations, and the repair station's quality standards. This position requires an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate, granting the privilege to perform and approve for return to service all non-critical (minor) maintenance. This position is contingent on successful contract award to V2X.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft and components. Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, and company quality standards. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues; troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies. Document all maintenance actions accurately in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Perform functional and operational checks to verify airworthiness. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed. Coordinate with supervisors and other departments to ensure timely completion of work orders. Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Work Conditions:
Contingent upon contract award. Work performed in hangar and flight line environments with exposure to noise and moving machinery. May require overtime, shift work, and weekend support during peak operational periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent; technical school or military aviation maintenance training preferred. FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required. 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience on rotary-wing or fixed-wing aircraft. Thorough understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance practices. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Army aviation or military aircraft maintenance operations. Familiarity with GCSS-Army, ULLS-A(E), or similar maintenance management systems. Knowledge of
AS9110 / ISO 9001
quality standards. Additional certifications such as Inspection Authorization (IA) or specialized OEM training.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication and documentation skills. Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in confined spaces.
Certifications & Training:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification (required). OEM-specific maintenance training (preferred). OSHA safety training (preferred). Hazmat handling and shipping awareness (preferred).
Clearance Requirement:
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance as required by the contract (Public Trust or Secret level, as applicable).
