Job Description
A&P Mechanic Position Summary We are seeking skilled and safety-focused Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics to perform maintenance, inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of aircraft systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience working in an aviation maintenance environment, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties & Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures. Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace aircraft airframe and powerplant components. Complete aircraft servicing, repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical documents, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Conduct functional checks and operational testing of aircraft systems. Document all maintenance activities accurately and completely. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, safety procedures, and quality standards. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner. Collaborate with maintenance teams, inspectors, and flight operations personnel to ensure aircraft readiness. Qualifications Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification required. High school diploma or GED required. Previous aircraft maintenance experience preferred. Strong understanding of aircraft systems, structures, engines, and components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience performing line maintenance, heavy maintenance, or depot-level maintenance. Experience working on commercial, corporate, military, or general aviation aircraft. Familiarity with FAA regulations and maintenance documentation requirements. Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to work from ladders, maintenance stands, and elevated platforms. Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Work Environment Aircraft hangar, maintenance, and flight line environments. Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, chemicals, and aviation equipment. Fast-paced team environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Venice, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
