Join the team at Arapahoe Flight Club, a reputable flight school located in the scenic city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. With over five years of experience in fixed wing training, our flight school has successfully trained and produced skilled pilots who now soar the skies as professionals in the airline industry. As part of our continued commitment to excellence, we are expanding our offerings to include helicopter training, and we are seeking a qualified Helicopter Mechanic to join our growing team.
Job Description:
As an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic at Arapahoe Flight Club, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and airworthiness of our growing fleet of airplanes and helicopters. You will be responsible for performing inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Your expertise and attention to detail will be critical in maintaining our aircraft to the highest industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including but not limited to component replacements, system checks, and fluid replenishment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs to maintain the airworthiness of our aircraft fleet. Document all maintenance and repairs accurately and maintain up-to-date records of inspections, repairs, and parts inventory. Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Job Requirements:
Have a current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics Certificate. Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred but not required at time of hire. Have recent experience working as a mechanic on Robinson helicopters, preferably R44 Raven II, and Piper Aircraft. Applicants with other model airplane and helicopter experience will be considered. Applicant must have a high level of initiative and the ability to exercise independent judgment. Be able to work well with others in a team environment or independently if needed. Troubleshoot and correct mechanical malfunctions or discrepancies. Have analytical abilities sufficient to handle technical and administrative details related to the job. Have the ability to communicate effectively and deal courteously and professionally with students, instructors, pilots and co-workers alike. Applicant must have proficient computer skills, to include use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Have the ability to physically perform climbing, stooping, stretching, etc. for operations related to the job and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to learn on the job and be willing to work on airplanes and other aircraft.
