Sanford, Florida Position Type:
6 Month Contract to Hire Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to support production in a fast paced, deadline driven aviation environment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently and within a team while maintaining strong quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Install and modify aircraft components using engineering drawings and technical data Perform close tolerance drilling and structural assembly Fabricate and fit aircraft sheet metal parts in accordance with engineering requirements Remove and install fasteners and rivets Use aviation hand tools and sheet metal equipment properly and safely Complete work with minimal supervision while meeting production schedules Follow all safety and quality procedures Required Experience and Qualifications Minimum 3 years of aircraft sheet metal experience Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Experience with close tolerance drilling and structural work Familiarity with aviation tools and aircraft sheet metal fabrication methods Ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong attention to detail in a deadline driven setting Preferred Qualifications Business aviation experience is preferred, but other aviation or mechanical backgrounds will be considered Experience working on multiple aircraft platforms Candidates are required to provide their own basic aircraft sheet metal tools necessary to perform the duties of this position.
