STS Technical Services is hiring Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics to join Optic Air in Maurice, Iowa. This is a full-time, year-round direct hire opportunity supporting a rapidly growing fleet of Piper Aztec and Cessna 172 aircraft at KSXK. Position Overview
As an A&P Mechanic, you'll perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a fleet of aircraft used for aerial survey projects across the United States and Canada. You'll work out of a brand new, state-of-the-art hangar and join a company that values teamwork, growth, and a passion for aviation.
Core Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on light aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues related to aircraft systems, components, and engines
Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and precision measuring equipment
Perform detailed inspections, installations, and modifications on airframes and engines
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs
Stay current with industry standards and regulatory changes through ongoing training
Support a safe and efficient maintenance environment
Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (Required)
Experience with light aircraft systems such as Piper Aztec and Cessna 172 preferred
Strong understanding of aircraft engines, avionics, and mechanical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Must pass a background check and drug screening
