Licensed A&P Aircraft Mechanic Sun Valley Aviators | Hailey, ID (Friedman Memorial Airport - SUN) Sun Valley Aviators is building a new maintenance operation from the ground up, and we're looking for a licensed A&P mechanic who wants to help shape it. This isn't a seat in an established shop with someone else's systems already in place — it's a chance to build the shop, the processes, and the reputation alongside us as we grow to support airline maintenance, a fleet of flight school training aircraft, and local general aviation traffic. We're looking for someone creative and hard-working who's excited by that kind of ground-floor opportunity, not intimidated by it. The Role As our maintenance operation grows, you'll be a foundational part of it — turning wrenches on a wide variety of aircraft while also helping establish the shop's workflows, standards, and culture.

Expect variety:

one day you might be working a scheduled inspection on a training aircraft, the next troubleshooting a turbine airframe, the next helping figure out how we want to run the shop floor a year from now. You'll be involved in: Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs across piston and turbine aircraft Maintenance support for airline aircraft, a flight school's training fleet, and local general aviation customers Troubleshooting and returning aircraft to service safely and efficiently Helping establish and refine shop procedures, documentation, and workflow as the operation scales Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring full regulatory compliance Contributing to a shop culture built on quality work and taking ownership What We're Looking For Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate — required Inspection Authorization (IA) — a significant plus; IA holders will be given priority consideration Piston and turbine experience preferred A self-starter who's comfortable with variety and wants a hand in building something, not just maintaining what already exists Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in the quality of your work Ability to work well both independently and as part of a growing team Compensation & Benefits Pay commensurate with experience and qualifications Production-based bonuses The opportunity to help build and shape a maintenance operation from an early stage, with room to grow as it does Why Hailey, ID Work out of Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey, Idaho — right in the heart of the Sun Valley area, one of the country's true recreational mecca destinations.
