Job Description
A&P Aircraft Maintenance TechnicianJob Overview Maine Instrument Flight is seeking a motivated A&P Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance facility. This position will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications. We run a 4 day schedule with 10 hour shifts. Our maintenance operation supports a large fleet of single-engine piston flight school aircraft as well as twin-engine piston charter aircraft , providing an opportunity to work on a variety of aircraft and maintenance needs. The A&P Technician will help ensure our aircraft remain safe, reliable, and airworthy while minimizing downtime and maintaining accurate records in accordance with current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GA aircraft. Conduct inspections and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Diagnose and repair aircraft systems and components. Perform aircraft modifications and installations as required. Assist with maintaining the airworthiness and reliability of a diverse aircraft fleet. Accurately complete aircraft maintenance records and logbook entries in accordance with FAA regulations. Follow approved maintenance procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable FAA regulations. Communicate maintenance findings and aircraft status with management and other members of the maintenance team. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support the maintenance department in minimizing aircraft downtime. Requirements Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required. Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical aircraft systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to aircraft safety. Ability to maintain accurate and thorough maintenance documentation. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
