Job Title:
1st shift A&P Mechanic Job Description This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of general aviation aircraft in a first-shift, MondayFriday, climate-controlled maintenance hangar. The A&P Mechanic inspects, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and components, maintains and repairs aircraft systems, determines equipment malfunctions, interprets technical documentation, and restores aircraft to safe and reliable operating condition. The position focuses primarily on Cessna Caravan aircraft and involves hands-on work in a clean shop with a small, collaborative crew. Responsibilities Ensure all aircraft are airworthy and meet applicable regulatory and safety standards. Perform annual aircraft inspections and thoroughly document all areas requiring maintenance or repair. Carry out repairs and preventive maintenance in accordance with workbook instructions, industry standards, and FAA regulations. Maintain and repair aircraft components, including assembling and installing flight controls, engines, pneumatics, fuel systems, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical and hydraulic components, and accessories. Repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components, including wings, fuselage, rigging, floats, and associated parts. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions. Examine and inspect aircraft components such as landing gear, hydraulic systems, and de-icing systems to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other issues. Maintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft structures, aircraft floats, functional components, and systems including oxygen, fuel, electrical, gaskets, and seals. Interpret and apply technical documentation, including blueprints and manufacturers manuals, to solve moderate to complex maintenance problems. Ensure all safety and regulatory requirements are consistently met in daily work practices. Maintain accurate repair logs and documentation of all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance. Work primarily on Cessna Caravan aircraft within a general aviation and corporate aviation maintenance environment. Use appropriate hand tools and power tools for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft and components. Support a culture of foreign object damage (FOD) prevention by following established procedures and standards. Collaborate with a team of maintenance professionals to support efficient operations within a large FBO facility. Essential Skills Two to three years of general aviation aircraft mechanic experience preferred. Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) license preferred; strong consideration for candidates actively working toward or with equivalent experience. Hands-on experience in general aviation and aircraft maintenance, including piston and corporate aviation environments. Ability to meet FAA regulatory and safety requirements in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and inspection. Proficiency using hand tools such as wrenches and hammers, power tools, and other equipment used in testing and repairing aircraft and parts. Ability to effectively use a computer, phone, and photocopier for documentation, communication, and reference to technical materials. Commitment to obtaining and having all required personal tools within 90 days of starting employment. Ability to interpret and work from technical documentation, including blueprints and manufacturers manuals. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintenance records and repair logs. Ability to comply with federally regulated drug testing requirements. Ability to adhere to and support a formal FOD prevention plan. Stable work history that demonstrates reliability and long-term commitment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Five or more years of aircraft maintenance experience is a strong plus. Experience working on Cessna Caravan aircraft or similar general aviation platforms. Comfort working in a small, hands-on crew environment with opportunities for mentorship and cross-training. Strong problem-solving skills for moderate to complex technical issues. Effective communication and teamwork skills within a maintenance team of approximately 22 people. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $98000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
