POSITION OVERVIEW

STi is seeking one Aircraft Mechanic II (Hydraulics/Pneumatics) to support the 5th Bomb Wing at Minot AFB. This position performs time compliance depot-level maintenance and modifications on MHU-196 and MHU-204 heavy munitions trailers . The mechanic will work with a contractor field team to complete applicable Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs), troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and support operational checks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience repairing hydraulic systems on aircraft or ground support equipment and can perform modifications accurately from technical orders, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities include:

Perform assigned maintenance and modifications on MHU-196 and MHU-204 heavy munitions trailers in accordance with applicable TCTOs. Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, install, and adjust hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems. Remove and replace structural parts, accessories, and components; make adjustments to established specifications and drawings. Assist with hydraulic system bleeds and operational checks. Support initial operational checks, unpacking and inventory of modification kits, disassembly, installation, and final operational checks. Government personnel perform the initial and final checks. Maintain equipment in a safe condition for maintenance after the Government's initial safe-for-maintenance determination and through completion of the assigned TCTO work. Read and apply published technical data, engineering drawings, maintenance directives, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams. Document completed work, including applicable entries on AFTO Form 244. Follow tool control procedures and requirements for handling, using, and disposing of hazardous materials and waste. Coordinate with the field team and prioritize assigned work to meet project schedules.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Secret clearance required. At least two years of related maintenance support experience , including one year of hands-on hydraulic mechanic experience . Experience repairing hydraulic systems on aircraft or ground support equipment, including systems that use pressurized fluids. Ability to remove and replace parts and components and make adjustments according to specifications and drawings. Ability to read, interpret, and perform work from published technical data and engineering drawings. Knowledge of structural and mechanical diagrams, maintenance directives, measuring devices, and hazardous material handling requirements. Ability to assist with hydraulic system bleeds and operational checks. Normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards, as specified for this specialty.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience performing TCTO modifications on military ground support equipment. Experience with MHU-196 or MHU-204 heavy munitions trailers. Experience supporting depot-level maintenance or field modification teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primary duty location is Minot AFB, ND , supporting the 5th Bomb Wing . Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Travel to other Air Force installations may be required to support field team work. The Government provides the tools necessary to perform the task order's technical requirements.
