ENHANCED Updated 08/31/2026 Job Description Job Summary Job Summary for Avionics Aircraft Technician GMRE is currently recruiting for Avionics Aircraft Technicians. This is a day-shift position and may be eligible for per-diem based on GSA.gov standards. The Avionics Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and must possess knowledge of the electronic principles involved in a number of applications such as radar, data processing, navigation and data display. Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment. Must have the ability to recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance. Roles and Responsibilities for Avionics Aircraft Technician Must be knowledgeable of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles relating to electrical systems, concepts, and application of maintenance directives. Ability to interpret the meaning of symbols used in wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Must have the ability to properly handle, use, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials. Possess the skill to remove and replace F-16 aircraft parts and accessories/components. Have the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established Technical Data Specifications. Requirements Education and Experience Avionics Aircraft Technician Minimum of six (6) years total and two (2) years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) experience in aircraft maintenance support on F-16 aircraft as an avionics technician in order to accomplish required follow-on operations. Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Ability to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice as needed. Ability to maintain professional appearance. Security Clearance Requirements Must have a minimum of an active
U.S. SECRET
clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active
U.S. SECRET
clearance and be subject to a government security investigation. Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency. For insurance purposes, a valid driver's license is required. Physical Requirements Normal color vision as defined by GMRE, with a passing score of 75% or greater.
