Job Summary The Aircraft Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing aircraft, components, and related parts for painting and refinishing. This position performs cleaning, sanding, masking, surface preparation, and other assigned tasks to ensure surfaces are properly prepared for primer and paint application. Work is completed in accordance with applicable technical data, company policies and procedures, and established safety practices. Responsibilities Clean, wash, degrease, sand, scuff, and otherwise prepare surfaces using approved materials and methods. Remove paint, coatings, sealants, and surface contaminants as required. Feather paint edges and prepare repaired or damaged areas for refinishing. Apply fillers and perform minor surface corrections as directed. Mask and protect windows, openings, hardware, data plates, components, and other areas not requiring paint. Identify and report corrosion, damage, defects, or other conditions requiring repair. Maintain a clean, safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience in aircraft surface preparation is a preferred High School diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize surface imperfections and damage Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good time management and organizational skills Additional Requirements Complete a favorable background check and pass an FAA drug test Willingness to travel if needed Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or overtime as required Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in various locations for extended periods Ability to lift & carry 50 pounds Join us if you're passionate about precision craftsmanship in aircraft finishing!
