Job Purpose:
The A&P Mechanic role provides aircraft maintenance and modification to a fleet of 65-A90 (U21) aircraft in support of the New World Screwworm (NWS) Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) mission at the Edinburg, TX base.Key Responsibilities:
Follow directions and remain on task Disassemble, clean and maintain aircraft components and parts Organize and maintain shop environment, keeping it free from FOD Perform routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance Inspect aircraft and systems Read and understand OEM manuals, drawings, and diagrams, be familiar and follow company policies and procedures, comply with FAA regulations and documentation Troubleshoot and repair systems Other duties as assignedSkills/Qualifications:
High school education required, some college preferred Must hold a valid Airframe & Powerplant license Prior mechanical experience Technical aptitude Experience with turboprop aircraft, specifically King Air is preferred Ability to: Crawl in and out of tight spaces Comfortably work at elevated heights of at least 40 feet for extended periods of time Lift, balance and carry 50 lbs. Work in enclosed hangars and exterior weather conditions Work in close proximity to other people Relocation to Edinburg, TX is requiredJob Experience:
Mechanical acclamation, experience working with hands, repairing machines, troubleshooting, maintaining, modifying and improving all areas of aviation systems including electrical, sheet metal, general airframe and power plant in a well-recognized medium sized aviation operation.
