Updated 07/2026 Job Description Job Summary Southern Star Aviation is seeking a FAA licensed Airframe & Power Plant Mechanic experienced in General Aviation aircraft from small single engine to light twin engine aircraft. Turbine/jet experience is a plus. Ideal candidate must have have an eye for confirming quality work is performed and will be a self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems on their own. Should have general hand tools to perform aircraft maintenance. Salary will be based on experience/skill level. Southern Star Aviation is a full service Fixed Base Operator/Aircraft Maintenance Facility based at the Mid-Way Regional Airport (KJWY) in Midlothian, Texas. Our sister company is NOVA Avionics, an FAA Certified Repair Station. Requirements Current A&P license Minimum 5 years of experience in GA Ability to work without close supervision Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers Excellent organizational skills Must be able to manage multiple projects Valid driver's license Must adhere to the Company's FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.
