Description:
Aircraft Electrical Technician Job Description The Aircraft Electrician will perform avionics troubleshooting, installations, repairs, maintenance, and modifications to the avionics and electrical systems of F/A-18 aircraft. These modifications include upgrades to the Radar Package, Communications, and Comm Sec equipment, among other possible upgrades. Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting on avionics systems and electrical components. Install and repair fiber optic cables and harnesses. Conduct maintenance and modifications on F/A-18 aircraft, specifically focusing on electrical systems. Upgrade and modify radar and communication systems. Perform operational level maintenance on fighter jets, including F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and Super Hornet models. Essential Skills Experience in avionics systems troubleshooting. Proficiency in fiber optic installation and maintenance. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics. 4 - 7 years of depot or heavy maintenance experience on aircraft electrical systems. F-18 experience highly preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Navy Ratings of AE or AT are highly preferred. Experience with NAV - magic box is advantageous. Eligibility for SECRET clearance is required. Must be eligible for a Boeing badge, with no terminations on record. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
