Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) - RVA Flyers Overview We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This role performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft, while maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness, documentation, and customer service. The ideal candidate is a motivated FAA-certificated A&P mechanic who can work independently, communicate clearly, and takes pride in quality workmanship. Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Duties Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, servicing, and inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and RVA Flyers procedures. Perform maintenance on Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft. Diagnose and correct mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel-system, and engine discrepancies. Complete accurate maintenance records, logbook entries, work orders, and return-to-service documentation. Conduct annual, 100-hour, phase, and routine inspections as assigned. Use Diamond Aircraft maintenance data, service bulletins, and approved technical documentation to complete work to manufacturer and FAA standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; follow all safety, tool-control, hazardous-material, and FOD-prevention procedures. Coordinate with the maintenance team, flight crew, vendors, and customers to resolve maintenance matters efficiently and professionally. Participate in on-call, evening, weekend, holiday, and overtime coverage as operational needs require. Support additional shop and aircraft-maintenance duties as assigned. Requirements Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate required. At least 2 years of hands-on aircraft-maintenance experience preferred. General aviation and piston-aircraft maintenance experience strongly preferred. Diamond Aircraft experience or familiarity with Austro engines is preferred, but not required. Working knowledge of FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, maintenance manuals, and approved data. Ability to troubleshoot aircraft systems and perform quality maintenance with minimal supervision. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and parts catalogs. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and commitment to safety and quality. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hangar, ramp, or outdoor environment, including climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Inspection Authorization, avionics experience, and/or Austro engine experience are a plus.
