About AFI AFI is a growing flight-training organization operating a diverse fleet of general-aviation aircraft across Colorado and Wyoming. We are seeking an experienced, dependable Aircraft Maintenance Technician to help keep our training fleet safe, reliable, and available for students and instructors. Position Overview The Aircraft Maintenance Technician will perform inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and aircraft servicing on AFI's piston-engine fleet. This is a hands-on position supporting a busy flight school, requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, accurate documentation, and the ability to prioritize aircraft availability without compromising safety or regulatory compliance. Aircraft Experience Required Applicants must have demonstrated hands-on maintenance experience with: Cessna 172 aircraft Beechcraft Baron aircraft Other single- and multi-engine piston aircraft Experience with Cessna 310 aircraft, Garmin avionics, flight-school fleets, and high-utilization training aircraft is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on AFI aircraft Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, engine, and avionics issues Complete 50-hour, 100-hour, annual, and other required inspections Diagnose and resolve aircraft squawks efficiently and thoroughly Perform engine, propeller, landing gear, brake, electrical, fuel, and flight-control maintenance Maintain aircraft in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, ADs, service bulletins, and company procedures Make accurate and complete maintenance logbook entries Review aircraft records and identify upcoming inspection and maintenance requirements Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance, Chief Pilot, dispatch, and flight instructors Communicate clearly regarding aircraft status, discrepancies, estimated completion times, and return-to-service needs Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Assist with parts identification, ordering, inventory, and vendor coordination Support aircraft recovery and maintenance needs between AFI locations when necessary Help minimize aircraft downtime while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality Required Qualifications Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate Demonstrated maintenance experience with Cessna 172 aircraft Demonstrated maintenance experience with Beechcraft Baron aircraft Strong knowledge of FAA maintenance regulations and aircraft logbook requirements Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and accurately Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to work productively in a busy flight-school environment Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check Ability to occasionally work flexible hours, weekends, or respond to time-sensitive aircraft maintenance needs Preferred Qualifications Inspection Authorization Experience with Cessna 310 aircraft Experience maintaining flight-school or high-utilization aircraft Experience with Garmin or other modern glass-panel avionics Experience with Part 61 or Part 141 flight-school operations Experience using computerized maintenance tracking systems Experience managing aircraft maintenance schedules and parts inventory Three or more years of professional aircraft maintenance experience Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a skilled and dependable A&P mechanic who takes pride in quality work, communicates well, and understands the importance of keeping training aircraft safe and operational. This person should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating with flight operations, instructors, dispatch, and leadership. Pay:

$32.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
