Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Fire Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems that operate on low voltage electrical circuits. Additional experience with access control, security systems, and CCTV would be appreciated. Your expertise will ensure that alarm systems are compliant with all relevant codes and standards, providing safety and peace of mind for our clients. Responsibilities Install, test, and commission fire alarm systems, including proprietary fire alarm control panels and sensors, ensuring proper operation according to design specifications and building codes Install, test and commission access control,, security alarm, and cctv systems according to design and codes. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and system testing to ensure ongoing compliance with NFPA standards, fire codes, and manufacturer requirements Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files to accurately execute system design plans Perform construction inspections to verify proper installation practices and adherence to building code compliance Troubleshoot electrical issues using voltmeters, multimeters, and other hand tools; diagnose system faults efficiently to minimize downtime Collaborate with clients and contractors to provide exceptional customer service, explaining system functions and maintenance procedures clearly Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed, including service reports, inspection logs, and system modifications Skills Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and CAD drawings related to fire alarm systems and low voltage wiring Knowledge of fire alarm, security, access control, and CCTV system design, installation techniques, and maintenance procedures in accordance with NFPA standards, AHJ and local codes Mechanical aptitude with experience in fire sprinkler fitting and sprinkler systems is a plus Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, power tools, and testing equipment like voltmeters Familiarity with proprietary fire alarm control panels and sensors used in commercial systems Understanding of electrical work principles including NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for low voltage wiring Ability to perform construction inspection tasks ensuring building code compliance during installation phases Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach when interacting with clients and team members Experience in engineering troubleshooting techniques for complex fire alarm systems Construction or service technician experience in the fire alarm or related low voltage fields is highly desirable Join us as a Low Voltage/Fire Alarm Technician if you're passionate about safety technology and eager to grow your skills in a fast-paced environment.
