In this role, you will help deliver reliable fire and security systems that support customer safety and day-to-day operations. Role Overview As a Security Installer I, you will work under direct supervision to complete assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities for fire and security systems. This is a hands-on field role that combines technical work, customer interaction, and detailed documentation. Key Responsibilities Complete assigned programming, commissioning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of fire and security systems in line with contract obligations. Assist experienced personnel with system problem resolution, including troubleshooting the system and supporting others with practical solutions. Prepare required commissioning documentation and provide accurate information for as-built documentation. Follow safety standards and local and national codes with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Communicate with the customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site, maintaining proactive and professional interaction throughout the job. Support project execution against plan and report problems or changes to the supervisor or management as needed. Complete paperwork and on-site documentation accurately and on time. Perform self-study through reading, research, and practice to build technical proficiency on required products and applications. Perform other duties as assigned. How You Will Do It Stay close to the work and the customer by understanding current systems on site, confirming needs in real time, and keeping communication clear from arrival to departure. Own outcomes with accountability by working safely, following local and national codes, and treating the protection of people and property as a priority on every job. Solve problems with candor and curiosity by supporting troubleshooting efforts, escalating changes early, and using practical judgment to help remove obstacles in the field. Improve every day through self-study, reading, research, and hands-on practice that builds confidence with core and third-party fire/security products, software, and systems/electrical technology. Win as one team by coordinating with supervisors, experienced technicians, and customers, while sharing accurate updates and documentation that support commissioning and as-builts. Maintain appropriate local and National Fire/Security Industry Certifications as required for the role. Qualifications High school diploma. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts. Basic computer skills. Attention to detail. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people. Valid driver's license. Nice to Have One year of experience installing fire or security systems. Electronics certification from an accredited technical school or military electronics training.
