Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Alarm Technician to join our growing team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading security installation projects and the ability to install and configure security systems across commercial, industrial, and enterprise environments. This leadership role requires a hands-on technician who can supervise crews, manage project timelines, troubleshoot complex issues, and successfully install and configure security systems, CCTV platforms, access control solutions, and intrusion detection systems while delivering exceptional client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of security technicians, providing training, mentorship, and technical support. Coordinate and schedule installation projects while ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to project deadlines. Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and installation strategies. Install and configure security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and monitoring devices according to project specifications. Oversee field technicians and ensure they properly install and configure security systems on every project. Ensure all installations comply with industry regulations, building codes, and safety requirements. Perform diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for a variety of electronic security platforms. Troubleshoot technical issues involving access control, video surveillance, alarm systems, and integrated security technologies. Collaborate with clients, project managers, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. Provide technical expertise and guidance on how to install and configure security systems for both new construction and retrofit projects. Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, system configurations, programming changes, and maintenance activities. Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices related to electronic security and access control systems. Train junior technicians on how to install and configure security systems while maintaining company quality standards. Assist with system commissioning and ensure all deployed solutions are properly tested and operational. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Additional certifications or training in electronics, low-voltage systems, access control, CCTV, or alarm systems preferred. Minimum 3+ years of experience in electronic security installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming. Previous leadership, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to install and configure security systems across multiple security platforms and manufacturers. Strong understanding of CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, and integrated security technologies. Experience performing complex service calls and system diagnostics. Knowledge of industry regulations and low-voltage installation best practices. Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the Los Angeles area. Ability to independently install and configure security systems while managing multiple priorities and project deadlines. Preferred Systems Experience Candidates with experience installing, servicing, and programming the following platforms are highly preferred: Avigilon Brivo Openpath Verkada Hands-on experience to install and configure security systems utilizing these manufacturers will be strongly preferred. Experience integrating video surveillance, access control, and alarm monitoring platforms is highly desirable.
