Full Job Description Location:
Bay Area, CA Company:
Superior Alarm Systems (SAS) Who We Are Superior Alarm Systems is a commercial security integrator working at the top end of the market — global pharmaceutical and biotech campuses, entertainment studios, large-scale manufacturing facilities, and high-security enterprise environments. Our Technician IV is the senior technical authority on every job site they touch. You own the project in the field. You set the standard. You are the reason clients trust us. We're growing our Bay Area team and need a Technician IV who has done this before — at scale, in complex environments, with real accountability. What You'll Do Field Leadership & Project Execution Serve as the senior technical authority on commercial installation projects — you own the field from mobilization to closeout Plan, sequence, and coordinate installation activities across crews of Tech I-III; you set the pace and the standard Partner directly with Project Managers on scheduling, risk identification, and execution strategy Proactively identify scope gaps, schedule risks, or quality issues — and resolve them before they become problems Drive projects to completion on time and within budget without sacrificing workmanship Hands-On Technical Work Perform and oversee advanced installation of integrated security systems: access control (PACS), IP video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, and specialty devices Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling to professional standards — clean runs, proper management, no rework Commission and validate Genetec, Lenel, and/or Bosch systems; perform basic programming and system-level testing Interpret and work directly from engineered drawings, system schematics, and project specifications — you don't wait for someone to walk you through a set of prints Validate all work meets SAS quality standards before inspection or customer turnover Quality & Standards Enforce best practices across your crew — every device installed cleanly, labeled correctly, tested fully Conduct jobsite quality audits and punch-list resolution prior to closeout Document work completed, time entries, and project status accurately in SAS project tracking systems What You Bring Required — no exceptions: 5+ years of hands-on commercial security installation experience — enterprise, pharmaceutical, industrial, or institutional environments Demonstrated experience leading field installation teams on active commercial job sites Proven ability to independently install, terminate, and commission access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems Direct experience with Genetec, Lenel, or Bosch (at least one required; multi-platform experience strongly preferred) Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics without assistance Strong troubleshooting skills — you diagnose and resolve field-level issues independently Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Residential-only experience does not qualify for this role. Candidates without commercial systems leadership experience will not be advanced. What Sets You Apart Experience delivering multi-phase or large-scale commercial projects from start to closeout Multi-platform proficiency across Genetec + Lenel + Bosch — or comparable enterprise-grade systems Familiarity with Bluebeam for drawing markups and D-Tools for project documentation Experience managing subcontractors or third-party integration partners on job sites Any relevant certifications: ESA/NTS, manufacturer certs (Genetec Certified Professional, Lenel-S2, Bosch), or CA low-voltage licensing History of catching and correcting scope issues before they hit the PM's desk Why SAS The work is real. You'll be on enterprise accounts — pharma campuses, production studios, manufacturing environments — where the systems are complex, integrated, and high-stakes. This isn't repetitive or routine. The path is clear. Technician IV is the senior field tier, and it opens the door to new roles as SAS continues to grow in the Bay Area. We promote from within. The support is there. You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers, have access to proper tooling, and be backed by a company with 40+ years of operational history — not a startup figuring things out at your expense. The pay reflects the skill. $43-$55/hr based on verified experience and platform proficiency. Not a range that gets revised down after the offer call. Compensation & Benefits $43-$55/hr — based on experience and systems knowledge Medical coverage up to 95% of premiums paid — plus dental and vision 401(k) with company contribution 2 weeks PTO + 7 sick days + 7 paid holidays Company laptop provided Ongoing training and manufacturer certifications supported The Honest Picture This role is for someone who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. SAS has a reputation for technical excellence and we protect it — which means we need technicians who share that standard, not just show up for a paycheck. If you're a seasoned commercial tech who wants complex work, a team that respects your skills, and a clear path to the next level — we want to talk. Ready to Apply? This is a senior field leadership role requiring 5+ years of commercial security systems experience. If you cannot independently lead an installation team, commission integrated systems, or read engineered drawings, this role is not a match. If you're an experienced security technician who thrives in a leadership role and takes pride in delivering high-quality work, we'd love to hear from you. #LI-TW1
