This is a full-time, in-office position for a highly motivated professional with extensive experience designing commercial fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, the California Fire Code (CFC), and other applicable standards. If you take pride in designing code-compliant systems, mentoring others, and being a technical resource for both design and construction teams, we'd like to hear from you. Compensation Up to $125,000 annually , depending on experience and qualifications Full-time position Opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding company Preferred Qualifications NICET Level IV in Fire Alarm Systems (strongly preferred) Extensive experience designing commercial fire alarm systems Thorough knowledge of NFPA 72 , California Fire Code (CFC), CBC, and related fire alarm codes and standards Experience with Notifier, Silent Knight, Gamewell-FCI, Edwards, Siemens, or similar fire alarm systems Strong understanding of initiating devices, notification appliances, control equipment, voice evacuation, networking, and emergency responder radio communication systems (ERRCS) is a plus Ability to interpret architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural plans Excellent communication and organizational skills Proficiency with AutoCAD and fire alarm design software Responsibilities Design commercial fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA 72, California Fire Code, and all applicable local and national codes. Produce complete and accurate fire alarm shop drawings, calculations, battery calculations, voltage drop calculations, and equipment layouts. Review and quality-check CAD operators' and drafters' work to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and company standards. Serve as the company's technical expert for fire alarm design and applicable code requirements. Provide technical guidance and design support to Project Managers, Estimators, Sales, and Operations. Assist with system equipment selection and value engineering while maintaining code compliance. Coordinate with AHJs, engineers, architects, electrical contractors, and project stakeholders as needed. Stay current with code updates, industry standards, and manufacturer product changes. Help establish and improve company design standards and best practices.
