Job Description

Job Summary:
The Fire Alarm Technician will work to install, maintain, repair, inspect and troubleshoot fire alarm systems. They will assist with the training of team members and be a key member in implementation, problem solving and insuring compliance among the team.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate job sites and create project plan for team to implement.
  • Coordinate with site Superintendent and other trades to complete project plan.
  • Address any changes or concerns to maintain efficient project plan.
  • Train and provide technical support to other team members.
  • Research, learn and implement new systems for Fire Department.
  • Manage installation of projects to include onsite coordination with General Contractor site foreman or superintendent.
  • Create and present weekly safety meeting topics.
  • Assist Inspection and Service Teams as needed.
  • Complete rough and final inspections with authority having jurisdiction.
  • Install and program fire alarm systems according to blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Perform device testing for fire alarm systems.
  • Insure that records are maintained and daily reports are prepared.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA systems and electrical and fire codes.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and test fire alarm systems.
  • Address any emergent needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Excellent time management with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the ability to quickly learn about the project.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5+ years of related experience required.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Denver certification required.
  • NICET certifications required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment and perform tasks in various environments that may involve working at heights and in tight spaces
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, swat, and crawl, balance, push/pull and reach overhead.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers.
  • Must be able to follow safety protocols and wear proper personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to work safely at client sites in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
  • Must be able to navigate to different clients sites daily and have a clean driving record.
