In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems to meet all safety standards and regulations. Your expertise will help protect lives and property by ensuring fire detection systems operate flawlessly. This position offers an exciting opportunity for technicians passionate about system design, electrical work, and construction inspection to make a tangible impact in safety technology. Duties Install fire alarm systems according to blueprints, schematics, and system design specifications using hand tools, power tools, and CAD software. Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm components including sensors, control panels, and low voltage wiring to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot system issues using electrical experience and knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards; perform repairs or replacements as needed. Read and interpret schematics, construction drawings, and system diagrams to accurately install or service alarm systems. Perform field service tasks such as system calibration, sensor testing, and commissioning to meet safety compliance requirements. Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or upgrades by providing technical guidance on fire alarm system integration and construction inspection. Maintain detailed documentation of all service activities, inspections, repairs, and system modifications for compliance audits. Qualifications Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, or service technician roles with a strong mechanical knowledge base. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and system schematics confidently. Knowledge of low voltage wiring, sensors, fire sprinkler fitting basics, and electrical systems aligned with NEC standards. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in fire alarm installation and troubleshooting. Familiarity with construction processes including inspection procedures and working within construction sites. Strong understanding of fire alarm system components such as control panels, sensors, alarms, and related electrical circuitry. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Prior experience in field service roles involving alarm system sales or fire alarm sales is a plus.
